Unlike previous Balcones Bourbons that have been either experimental projects or limited releases, this is just what the label says – a straight Bourbon that’s intended to be more accessible, available, and most of all, affordable. The nose has good spices, hints of tobacco and leather, honey, and vanilla. The taste is thick and oily with good spices, honey and caramel sweetness, and hints of leather and tobacco in the background. The finish fades away nicely with a good balance of spices and sweetness. Very nice! (April, 2019)
