Mirador is Balcones’s homage to classic single malt Scotch whiskies, and is made with Scottish barley and matured in used oak barrels. This 2023 release is additionally finished in casks that previously held Balcones’s rum. The nose is nutty with touches of molasses, ginger snap cookies, green grapes, and a subtle hint of oak. The taste is tart with green grapes, kiwi fruit, a nice nutty character, tropical fruits, and a touch of spice. The finish is long and tart. (April, 2024)
