Balblair 2000 Second Release. Image courtesy Balblair/International Beverage. This is the 2018 release of Balblair’s 2000 vintage, and was matured for 13 years in ex-Bourbon casks with fine years in Spanish Oak butts. The nose is well-rounded and complex with notes of mango, pineapple, apple pie, and Christmas cake. The taste has a great balance of oak tannins with spices up front, with complexity coming from citrus fruits, honey, and brown sugar in the background. The finish is long and mouth-watering with fading fruits and a touch of cocoa powder. Excellent! (April, 2018)
