Baker’s 13 Single Barrel
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 53.5%
Score: 93 Points
When Beam Suntory decided to rework Baker’s Bourbon into a single barrel expression in late 2019 after years of selling it as a 7-year-old Bourbon, they also added this limited-edition 13-year-old single barrel. Like the original Baker’s, it’s bottled at 107 proof (53.5% ABV). The nose is rich and aromatic with classic Bourbon notes of leather, tobacco, honey, molasses, vanilla, and caramel. The taste is chewy and thick with good spicy touches of black pepper and allspice complemented nicely by dark chocolate, honey, molasses, and a hint of tobacco leaves. The finish is long with subtle spices and a nice sweetness. Excellent! (November, 2019)
