Asaka Aoi Japanese Single malt whisky. Image courtesy dekantā.This single cask bottling from Japan’s Asaka Distillery was bottled for Dekantā’s fifth anniversary in 2020, and was matured for three years in an ex-Bourbon cask. The nose is fruity and complex with touches of red apples, pears, and citrus fruits along with subtle dry spices and a hint of oak. The taste has a good fruity character with citrus fruits, salted caramel, toffee, and touches of allspice and ginger. The finish is fruity and tart with hints of spices and oak. Very nice!
