Asaka Aoi Edition Single Cask

Asaka Aoi Japanese Single malt whisky. Image courtesy dekantā.

Country: Japan

Region:

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 51%

Score: 93 Points

This single cask bottling from Japan’s Asaka Distillery was bottled for Dekantā’s fifth anniversary in 2020, and was matured for three years in an ex-Bourbon cask. The nose is fruity and complex with touches of red apples, pears, and citrus fruits along with subtle dry spices and a hint of oak. The taste has a good fruity character with citrus fruits, salted caramel, toffee, and touches of allspice and ginger. The finish is fruity and tart with hints of spices and oak. Very nice!
