Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Years Old Batch #1
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46.2%
Score: 93 Points
The debut release of this Islay single malt is matured in a combination of American Oak and Oloroso Sherry casks, and after 19 years, the nose has the classic Ardbeg peatiness and phenolic character along with hints of brine, heather, honey, and driftwood. The taste is thick, chewy, smoky, and pungent with touches of heather, honey, and black pepper drifting out from the peat smoke. The finish is long and peaty – you expected anything less?
