Ardbeg Supernova 2019 Edition
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 53.8%
Score: 94 Points
After four long years, Ardbeg released a new edition of its heavily-peated Supernova in 2019. The nose is smoky and medicinal with touches of menthol, eucalyptus, toasted vanilla beans, toffee, and hints of charcoal ashes and fireplace soot. The taste starts off thick and fruity, followed by an intense burst of peat smoke and phenolic character with a good ashiness balanced by grilled fruits and a subtle touch of toffee. The finish is long, oaky, and smoky with subtle background hints of clove, toffee, and orange peel. Boom! (February, 2020)
