Ardbeg’s special Feis Ile release of 2024 is matured — not finished, in Port wine casks previously used to mature Glenmorangie’s Quinta Ruban single malt, with part of the final blend coming from classic Ardbeg ex-Bourbon barrels. The result: a perfume-like nose full of peat smoke, red grapes, plums, chocolate mint, and floral touches of lavender and violet. The taste is peppery and floral with white pepper, clove, and allspice notes, peat smoke, lavender, violet, and red grapes. The finish is long and well-balanced between spice and floral notes. Outstanding! (April, 2024)
