Ardbeg Day

Country: Scotland

Region: Islay

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 56.7%

Score: 93 Points

This was Ardbeg’s 2012 Feis Ile bottling, and the nose is predictably peaty with classic tar and creosote notes, undertones of dried peaches and honey with a hint of vanilla for a good balance. The taste is syrupy-sweet for a brief moment, then the peat kicks in. Strong, smoky, and heathery while not overpowering the delicate sweet touches of honey and dried fruits underneath. The finish is smoky and lingering.
