Archie Rose Rye Malt Whisky. Image courtesy Archie Rose Distilling Co. This whisky is made with a mashbill of malted rye and malted barley, and the nose has notes of baking spices, toasted oak, a hint of molasses, dark honey, espresso beans, and graham crackers. The taste has a great spiciness with cinnamon, black pepper, and a touch of clove that fade slowly to reveal touches of honey, molasses, vanilla, and dried apricots. The finish is long and subtle with gentle spices and a hint of apricots, and is mouthwatering and luscious. (August, 2019)
