Angel's Envy Tawny Port Finish. Image courtesy Angel's Envy/Louisville Distilling Co. This is the oldest release of Angel’s Envy so far, with 10 years of maturation before spending a final 10 months in Tawny Port casks. The nose has notes of dried fruits, oak tannins, and a hint of red grapes. The taste is slightly astringent with black pepper, clove, and cinnamon spices complemented by underlying touches of dried fruits and nuttiness. A few drops of water accentuates the fruitiness on the palate and the spices on the finish, which is long with dried fruits, cocoa, and touches of clove and black pepper. Excellent! (February, 2020)
