The nose on this year’s Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon has a good balance of dark fruits, charred oak, baking spices, cherry pipe tobacco, and a hint of leather. The taste reminds me of chocolate-covered cherries with a touch of oak tannins and hints of orange peel, brown sugar, and vanilla, The finish is well-balanced between oak and dried fruits with a touch of molasses cookies in the background.
