anCnoc Rascan Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Image courtesy Inver House/International Beverage.Another one of anCnoc’s peaty single malts from the Knockdhu Distillery in the Highlands, this one gets its name from the rake-like tool used to loosen up the top layer of a peat bog for cutting. The nose has a subtle peatiness, along with grilled pineapple, heather, honey, vanilla, and a hint of smoked salmon. The taste has a good peatiness, along with notes of honey, vanilla, smoked salmon, and a hint of citrus. The finish is long with lingering smoke and a touch of grilled citrus fruits. Nice!
