As with the first release of Amrut Rye, this whisky is made with 100% malted rye grain and matured in new American oak casks. The nose has touches of dried straw and grass clippings, honey, vanilla, and dried fruits. The taste has a note of red Jolly Ranchers candy, anise, and rye spices that come alive slowly and last through the long finish, which is a bit rough around the edges. (December, 2024)
