Alfred Giraud Harmonie French Malt Whisky. Image courtesy Alfred Giraud/Craft Spirits. This French blended malt takes three non-peated malt whiskies from different French distilleries, then blends them with a lightly peated malt before finishing in ex-Cognac casks. The nose has a hint of smoke along with baked fruits, figs, Christmas cake, cedar and sandalwood. The taste is thick, rich, and complex with a fruity sweetness at first followed by a burst of baking spices and a kiss of smoke. That spicy character lasts through the very long finish. Excellent!
