Alberta Premium 30 Year Old Canadian Whisky. Image courtesy Alberta Distillers. Fewer than 9,000 bottles of this 100% Rye Canadian classic were released in 2011, and along with the Canadian Club 30-year-old released in 2008, this ranks as one of the oldest Canadian whiskies ever made available for sale. The nose is rich with soft, muted spicy notes of allspice and clove balanced by honey, vanilla, and a whiff of maple. The taste is rich, thick, and spicy with clove, allspice, and a hint of cinnamon, with the same honey, maple, and vanilla notes from the nose providing a nice balance. The finish is dry, lingering, warm, and slightly peppery. Outstanding! (January, 2015)
