Aerstone Land Cask
Country: Scotland
Region: Lowlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 40%
Score: 92 Points
This is a lightly peated single malt using one of the four styles of malt whisky distilled at the Ailsa Bay Distillery by William Grant & Sons. The notes has notes of toasted caramel and marshmallows, along with milk chocolate – think of a “S’more” in this case. There are also hints of bacon bits, honey, and vanilla. The taste has a good balance of tartness and smokiness, with touches of tart cherry pie with a browned crust. Nice baking spices develop very slowly and linger through the very long finish.
