Adams Port Cask
Country: Australia
Region: Tasmania
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 47%
Score: 91 Points
This is the regular version of the Adams Cask Strength Tasmanian single malt, and the distillers use a unique way to mature their whiskies. They don’t fill their barrels all the way to the bung hole, but leave some room to “slosh” the maturing whisky around when they roll their casks around the distillery. The nose is fruity with touches of red grapes, raisins, toffee, and blackberries. The taste has a good balance of fruit and spices with blackberries, red grapes, subtle spices, and a hint of fig cookies. The finish is long and fruity with a hint of clove that comes alive in the background. (November, 2019)
