2XO Whiskey founder Dixon Dedman named this whiskey for South Carolina’s Kiawah Island, where he likes to vacation with his family. The high-rye Bourbon has a nose of caramel, honey, peaches, and apple pie. The taste starts off with cherry cola at first, then black pepper and clove notes come alive as hints of honey, peaches, and caramel candy develop in the background. The finish is long, dry, and astringent with lingering spices. Very nice! (April, 2024)
