Kilchoman Inaugural Release
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 91 Points
The first official single malt released by Islay’s youngest distillery, but with characteristics of much older whiskies. The nose is smoky and warm, well-balanced with nice peat and notes of pears, vanilla, and oak. The taste is peppery and intense as one might expect, but fades smoothly to a dry tartness with hints of green apples and lemon zest. The finish is clean and dry with a slight peatiness.
