Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
John Glaser filled just 170 bottles of Optimism at Whisky Live London in 2009, making it rare that you’ll see this one. The nose is smoke and charred oak, heather, straw, and ginger. The taste is very smooth with peat and cinnamon balanced against ginger and nutmeg notes. The finish is smoky, peppery, and long.
