Waterford Heritage: Goldthorpe

Waterford Heritage: Goldthorpe Irish Single Malt. Image courtesy Waterford Whisky.

Country: Ireland

Region:

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 50%

Score: 93 Points

This whisky comes from the heirloom Goldthorpe strain of barley first discovered in 1887, and the nose is grassy with touches of straw, mushrooms, and an earthy character. The taste has notes of lemon zest, barley sugar, mushrooms, and honey, while the finish is long and earthy with a lingering spicy kick. Very nice! (September, 2024)
