Ardbeg “The Unicorn’s Tale”

Ardbeg

Country: Scotland

Region: Islay

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 46%

Score: 92 Points

This Islay single malt from Ardbeg’s Anthology Series is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Madeira wine casks, but it’s still a classic Ardbeg with peat smoke on the nose along with tar and creosote, dried flowers, and honey. The taste starts off fruity and floral, with a slow onset of peat smoke and allspice notes and a hint of lemon zest. The finish has lingering peat smoke, creosote, heather, honey, and dried fruits. Very nice! (August, 2024)
