This annual Lagavulin release is finished in Pedro Ximenez-seasoned American Oak casks, and the nose has a subtle smokiness along with hints of sea salt, oak tannins, and a hint of honey. The taste is slow to come alive, but when it does…watch out! A nice complexity of figs, toffee, peat smoke, brine, and honey make this a classic Lagavulin. The finish is long and smoky with a hint of spice. (December, 2023)
