This 2023 cask-strength release was produced using barley from Islay’s Octomore Farm malted to 214.2 parts per million of phenols, and the nose has a nice peatiness along with touches of heather, charcoal, dark honey, and plums. The taste is peppery and peaty with an explosion of peat smoke and notes of creosote, heather, honey, and hints of tropical fruits in the background. The finish has a lingering smokiness and touches of tropical fruits. (October, 2023)
