Hard Truth Distilling in Nashville, Indiana makes its Rye whiskies using a sweet mash process instead of the sour mash method used by most distillers. The nose on this Rye whiskey has baking spices, oak tannins, honey, and vanilla. The taste is thick and chewy with a good slow buildup of cinnamon, allspice, and white pepper, along with apples, honey, and oak tannins underneath. The finish is long and spicy. (August, 2023)
