Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
This American light whiskey was blended by F. Paul Pacult for Jacob’s Pardon owner Palm Bay International, and was distilled at MGP from a mashbill of 99% corn and 1% malted barley. The nose has touches of caramel candy, baking spices, black cherries, and a hint of pipe tobacco. The taste is mouth-puckering and dry with spicy notes of clove and cinnamon balanced by caramel, black cherries, and pipe tobacco. Adding water is highly recommended, and opens up dried flowers on the nose while rounding out the palate and delaying the spices until the finish, which is long and dry. A very complex whisky.
