Country: USA

Region: Kentucky

Type: Bourbon

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 60.4%

Score: 92 Points

This first 2022 release of Elijah Craig Barrel proof has tobacco leaves on the nose along with touches of oak tannins, muted spices, and hints of fruit. The taste starts off with a sweet cherry cola flavor followed by a blast of black pepper and chili powder, while honey, vanilla, tobacco leaves, and oak tannins add complexity in the background. Adding water knocks down the spices just a bit, while boosting notes of apples, peaches, and cocoa powder. The finish is medium-length with lingering spices, honey, and hints of cocoa powder and oak.
