Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
One of the single malts bottled for the virtual 2021 Campbeltown Malts Festival online tastings, this single malt spent its entire 17 years in a Caribbean Rum cask. The nose has a tropical character with island fruits, pineapple, a hint of coconut, molasses, and vanilla. The taste is fruity and tart with pineapple, grapefruit, a hint of orange peel, brown sugar, molasses, and touches of sea salt and ginger in the background. The finish is long and fruity with a hint of ginger and a subtle touch of sea breeze. Excellent! (July, 2021)
Special thanks to Matt Lurin and the Water of Life Festival for making this sample available.
