Isle of Raasay Signature
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46.4%
Score: 93 Points
This is the debut single malt release for Isle of Raasay Distillery, and comes from a complex blend of the distillery’s unpeated and lightly peated spirits, with both styles matured in a combination of Chinkapin Oak, first-fill ex-Rye whiskey, and first-fill ex-Bordeaux red wine casks. The nose is fruity with a gentle touch of smoke and touches of apricots, cherries, peaches, sea salt, and sandalwood. The taste is nectar-thick and fruity with apricots, fresh berries, black cherries, subtle spices and a touch of salted caramel. The finish is long, dry, and subtle with hints of wood smoke and dried fruits. An excellent debut! (June, 2021)
