While Luca Mariano plans to build its own distillery in Danville, Kentucky…this and its other early whiskies are being distilled nearby at Wilderness Trail Distillery using recipes created by founder Francesco Viola. The nose has notes of dark chocolate, muted spices, pipe tobacco, dried fruits, honey, and a hint of vanilla. The taste starts off light and sweet at first with touches of dried flowers and honey, followed by a burst of baking spices that lasts into the finish along with dark chocolate and hints of tree fruits.
