Beam Suntory is giving the venerable Old Overholt brand some love in 2020, and it shows in this Bottled in Bond Rye. The nose has great aromas of baking spices, dark chocolate, and coffee beans, with a hint of molasses in the background. The taste has classic rye spiciness balanced by hints of oak tannins, molasses, and cocoa powder. The finish is long with lingering spices and a touch of molasses. (November, 2020)
