This is a follow-up to the 2019 Parker’s Heritage Collection rye matured in #5 char barrels, only with 10-year-old Bourbon. The nose has a good balance of honey and charred oak character, along with hints of vanilla, nutmeg, and caramel. The taste is spicy and intense with black pepper, cinnamon, and chili powder balanced by honey, caramel, and vanilla notes. Water opens up hints of apple cobbler and brown sugar. The finish is long and spicy with a touch of charred oak complementing brown sugar and caramel sweetness. Excellent! (October, 2020)
