The Macallan Double Cask 18 Years Old
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 43%
Score: 95 Points
This is the flagship of The Macallan’s Double Cask range, and the nose has a gentle fruity touch with peaches, parse and apples balanced by a touch of orange peel along with subtle spices and a hint of toffee. The taste has a creamy mouthfeel with a nice bite of oak tannins and touches of raisins and orange peel that complement crystallized ginger and butterscotch. The finish is warm and gentle with hints of mandarin oranges and oak along with a gingery character that lasts long after the other flavors have faded. Excellent! (August, 2020)
