Barrel and Bottle Town Branch Double Cask
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Straight Malt Whisky
Bottler: Barrel and Bottle
ABV: 54.5%
Score: 92 Points
This 11-year-old American straight malt started out in a brand-new barrel, but was then finished in a second brand-new barrel to give it an extra kick. The nose is malty with a good oakiness and touches of butterscotch, honey, and anise. The taste is spicy with black pepper, cinnamon, and a hint of clove spices balanced by butterscotch, oak tannins, honey, and a hint of anise. Water opens up touches of red apples and apricots. The finish is long and spicy with a nice oakiness and a hint of molasses. (August, 2020)
