This whisky was distilled in June of 1999 at an undisclosed Orkney distillery (pick one, there are only two) and matured in a hogshead cask before being bottled in 2019. The nose is dry and light with hints of brine and smoked salmon, campfire wood, and a subtle hint of brown sugar in the background. The taste is peppery with a hint of smoke, grilled citrus fruits, and a hint of oak. The finish is very long with touches of anise, licorice, and a citrusy tartness. Very nice! (March, 2020)
