New Zealand Whisky Company High Wheeler 21
Country: New Zealand
Region:
Type: Single Grain
Bottler: New Zealand Whisky Company
ABV: 43%
Score: 88 Points
This vintage single grain whisky was distilled at the old Willowbank Distillery in Dunedin shortly before it closed in 1997, and is actually made from 70% malt and 30% grain. The nose is light and floral with a hint of rose petals, fresh-cut grass, and a touch of sawdust that adds complexity. The taste is tart and citrusy with pineapple and mango notes balanced by touches of ginger and allspice with a slightly floral character in the background. The finish is aromatic with touches of sawdust, licorice, and tropical fruits. (February, 2020)
