Spey Byron’s Choice
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 93 Points
This Port cask-finished single malt was released to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the marriage of Lord Byron to Anne Milbanke in 1815, when the groom presented a barrel of whisky from the Speyside Distillery to King George III. The nose is honey-sweet with dried flowers, hints of oak and spice, red grapes, and toffee. The taste has a good balance of honey, tree fruits, and baking spices with a hint of toffee. The finish is long and fruity with hints of spice in the background. (January, 2020)
