Jack Daniel’s 2019 Heritage Barrel

This is the second annual release of Heritage Barrel, which uses specially toasted barrels and spirit filled at a lower entry proof, then left to mature in the hot upper floors of the Jack Daniel’s rickhouses in Tennessee. The 2019 version gets an extra year of maturation, compared to the 2018 edition.
The nose has notes of honey, toasted vanilla, charred oak, campfire smoke, brown sugar, and a hint of anise. The taste has caramel cola, oak tannins, black pepper, allspice, honey, and molasses cookies. The finish has lingering spices and hints of molasses and brown sugar. (January, 2020)
