Clonakilty Double Oak Finish
Country: Ireland
Region:
Type: Irish Whiskey
Bottler: Clonakilty Distillery
ABV: 43.6%
Score: 90 Points
This Irish whiskey is finished in a combination of Virgin Oak casks and red wine barrels from Bordeaux that have been shaved, toasted, and re-charred. The nose is crisp and tart with hints of citrus, ginger, vanilla, and honey. The taste has soft spices balanced by a nice citrusy tartness with hints of pineapple and lemon zest along with touches of coconut, vanilla, and honey. The finish is gentle and lingering with hints of citrus and oak. (January, 2020)
