Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Sweet Peat
Country: Scotland
Region:
Type: Blended Scotch Whisky
Bottler: Diageo
ABV: 40.8%
Score: 92 Points
This expression in the Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch series emphasizes malts from Caol Ila and Glendullan distilleries, and the nose lives up to the name. There’s an aroma of tangy barbecue sauce along with honey, grilled fruits, soft oak, toasted coconut, and a hint of toffee. The taste is tangy, tart, and well-balanced with barbecue sauce, honey, crystallized ginger, grilled pineapple, and a hint of coconut. The finish is long and subtle with a kiss of sweet smoke and touches of honey and butterscotch. (December, 2019)
