Rabbit Hole Heigold
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 47.5%
Score: 91 Points
This Bourbon is made with Rye imported from Germany and gets its name from one of Louisville’s early immigrants, a stonecutter by the name of Christian Heigold. The nose has notes of charred oak, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, and hints of spice and tobacco leaves. The taste is spicy with black pepper and cinnamon balanced nicely by honey, vanilla, and hints of molasses and brown sugar. Water adds a bit of cocoa powder on the palate and boosts the spices on the finish, which is long and slightly dry with lingering spices and hints of molasses and brown sugar. (November, 2019)
