The Stone of Destiny was used to crown Scotland’s ancient kings, and this 38-year-old blend has a honey-sweet nose with touches of ginger snap cookies, dried fruits, and hints of leather, old books, and sawdust that add complexity and character. The taste is well-rounded with a luscious fruity tartness of red apples and raspberries balanced by hints of honey, oak, and vanilla in the background. The finish is long and fruity with subtle hints of oak and spice. Outstanding! (September, 2019)
