Uncle Nearest 1884
Country: USA
Region: Tennessee
Type: Tennessee Whiskey
Bottler: Uncle Nearest Whiskey
ABV: 46.5%
Score: 92 Points
This 7-year-old Tennessee whiskey is blended with the guidance from descendants of Nathan “Nearest” Green, the former slave who taught Jack Daniel how to make whiskey and worked with him as his master distiller. The nose is sweet and warm with notes of honey, molasses, pipe tobacco, maple syrup, and vanilla. The taste is sweet and smooth at first with honey and maple syrup notes, followed by a mild burst of black pepper and allspice while pipe tobacco and charred oak notes linger in the background. The finish is smooth, long, and gentle with just a hint of spice. (August, 2019)
