The Glenlivet Captain’s Reserve
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 40%
Score: 93 Points
This single malt uses a large percentage of first-fill ex-Sherry and ex-Cognac casks. The nose has notes of apricots, honey, raisins, a hint of licorice, subtle spices, and a touch of orange peel. The taste has good spicy notes of white pepper and allspice balanced by orange marmalade, baking chocolate, fresh berries, and a hint of pears. The finish is long, fruity, and mouthwatering. Very nice! (April, 2019)
