BenRiach 25 Years Old
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46.8%
Score: 94 Points
This Speyside single malt replaced the previous version of BenRiach 25 during 2017 and 2018 in many global markets, and arrived in the U.S. in the spring of 2019. It uses a bit of BenRiach’s peated malt whisky and a wide variety of casks ranging from ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry to French Oak Burgundy barriques.
The nose has notes of honey, soft spices, a hint of apple pie, and a nice oakiness. The taste is thick, rich, and fruity with good spices and touches of honey, figs, dates, dark chocolate, and orange peel. The finish is long with fruity notes that linger nicely and touches of Sherry and peat smoke. Excellent! (March, 2019)
