Bruichladdich Octomore 10 Years Dialogos
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 56.8%
Score: 93 Points
This Octomore was distilled in 2008 and matured in a combination of Port pipes, Cognac, ex-Bourbon, and virgin oak casks. For those who measure their whiskies by peatiness, it was peated to 167 parts per million of phenols.
The nose, as one might expect, is smoky and pungent with a slight ashiness and notes of grilled fruits, pipe tobacco, caramel, and vanilla. The taste is smoky, spicy, and dry with clove, cinnamon, leather, pipe tobacco, sawdust, and a nice maltiness. The finish is long and smoky with hints of toasted coconut and vanilla. Wow!
