India’s Royal Challenge is one of the world’s best-selling whiskies, with most of its sales in its home market. It’s a blend of malt whiskies exported from Scotland and locally produced Indian malts, and these tasting notes are for the export version of Royal Challenge. The nose is light and fruity with a citrusy tartness of lemon zest, honey , caramel, and a touch of black tea. The taste starts off with a touch of black tea with lemon and honey at first, followed by a burst of clove and hints of caramel and brown sugar in the background. The finish is long and consistent with the taste. (February, 2019)
