Westland Fifth Annual Peat Week
Country: USA
Region: Washington
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 50%
Score: 92 Points
The 2019 edition of Westland’s annual Peat Week single malt comes from casks matured for between three and five years, and is distilled from peated malt imported from Scotland. The nose has a subtle smokiness with touches of vanilla, straw, and dried flowers. The taste is smoky with caramel and vanilla notes at first, while a good pepperiness builds up slowly with a hint of honey in the background. The finish is long with lingering smokiness and spices. Excellent! (February, 2019)
