Douglas Laing Timorous Beastie 24 Years Old Sherried Edition
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Blended Malt
Bottler: Douglas Laing & Co.
ABV: 46.8%
Score: 93 Points
This is a US-exclusive bottling of Timorous Beastie, Douglas Laing & Company’s Highland Blended Malt, and as the name indicates, there’s a heavy emphasis on ex-Sherry casks in the blend. The nose has notes of toffee and dried fruits, along with nutmeg, allspice, and a soft touch of oak. The taste is thick, oily, and spicy with clove, allspice, cardamom, and nutmeg notes balanced by touches of caramel and toffee underneath. The finish is long and dry with lingering spices and touches of dried fruits. Excellent! (December, 2018)
